This page is for migrating the Embed Google Maps Pro from a Server or Data Center instance to Embed Google Maps Pro in Atlassian Cloud.

This is the officially supported way to migrate Embed Google Maps Pro content to Atlassian Cloud.

If you are migrating from Embed Google Map app (Server or Data Center) to Atlassian Cloud - please see this page.

Auto-conversion of links to Macro on Cloud

Embed Google Maps Pro app supports auto-conversion of Google Maps links (i.e., URLs) pasted into the page – parsing and converting them to a macro instantly.

The preferred and fully supported way of embedding a Google Map with auto-conversion is to use the share "short link" that can be generated from the Share or embed dialog in Google Maps UI.

For convenience, copy/pasting the full URL from the browser address bar is also supported. In Cloud however, due to a limitation in Atlassian auto-conversion API, only a subset of Google's domains are supported with this method, and only a subset of possible URLs is supported (e.g., maps with directions only supported for up to 5 way points). For full documentation about link auto conversion on Cloud - please see this page.

For domains or maps that cannot be automatically converted: a) use the short link from Share or embed dialog; alternatively b) insert the full link from the browser's address bar into the macro editor "Google Maps Link" parameter after inserting the macro using /map shortcut.

Limitations

Support for migrated content of Embed Google Maps Pro for Server/Data Center in Embed Google Maps Pro for Cloud is implemented as a hidden macro.

A hidden macro just means that it does not appear in the search (so that when you search for Google Maps, only one - the cloud native version appears).

Alternatively, the maps can be re-made using native Embed Google Maps Pro – either by pasting a sharing link from Google Maps UI, or by inserting a map with /map shortcut.

Support

Embed Google Maps Pro is supported 24x7 by our team, based in New Zealand and around the world. We have been developing and supporting apps for the Atlassian ecosystem since 2008.

The app also is part of the Marketplace Bug Bounty program, where security researchers are paid for any valid security issues that are found with the app.
