What is it?

When the same tracked event occurs repeatedly on the same issue, EasyTime merges sequential work logs silently to produce timesheets that accurately reflect the reality of the user's actions.

For example, consider if you keep commenting on the same issue, going back and forth with the customer, either by email or a chat application like Chat for Jira Service Desk by Spartez. With this feature - the resulting timesheet will have a single work log with a message configured for the Comment on Issue event.

A similar line of reasoning applies when the user has the same issue open in the browser for a long time – the sequential View Issue work logs will be merged.

When two events of different priorities occur on the same issue, EasyTime performs conflict resolution if they overlap or merge them based on configured merge options for Higher Priority events and Lower Priority events.

How to configure it?

Navigate to the EasyTime Configuration Screen

When EasyTime tracks time, it will extend the previous work log, if possible, instead of creating a new one. The parameter ‘Merge Without Prompt Limit’ allows you to set a limit for this behaviour. E.g. if the parameter is set to 30 minutes, EasyTime will always create a new work log if 30 minutes have passed since the time was tracked.

By default, EasyTime has the time increment set to 15 minutes, and work logs are to be aligned to the time grid. With silent merge set to 15 minutes – this will only merge a work log if it occurs immediately after another one of the same priority.
