HOW TO USE FORUMSPACE AND INTEGRATIONS
After installation and licensing a new "Forum Space" item will appear in Create Space menu.
When clicked, a wizard will ask some questions up-front and answers will be used to preconfigure dependent add-ons if they are licensed.
These add-ons include; EasyPage, Space Hierarchy, and Report Abuse.
EasyPage is configured to label all content in the space with a specific label and insert PageScore and PageStats macros in the hidden excerpts on EasyPage pages.
Forum Space Theme will automatically configure Space Hierarchy to use the "Flat" hierarchy mode.
Forum Space automatically uses the Moderator group that you select in the 'create space wizard' for the Report Abuse add-on.
ForumSpace Theme treats "User Policy" and "Welcome Header" pages especially. If these are created in the space, each page will have the header added to it and have a link to the User Policy page.
ForumSpace Theme integrates with PageStats - rendering the iconographic at the bottom of each page for the forum administrators groups and any group with space admin rights.
ForumSpace Theme integrates with PageScore - rendering the iconographic on each page based on the level of engagement and comment thread, prioritising which pages have generated higher discussion than others for idea gathering.
ForumSpace Theme also integrates with BitVoodoo's Viewtracker add-on, automatically rendering the ViewTracker macro at the bottom of each page, making statistics visible to forum administrators and users with space admin rights.
HOW TO CONFIGURE
Once ForumSpace is installed and licensed, you can now elect to create a Forum Space in the create space options.
When you choose Forum Space the wizard appears where you can appropriately name the space and configure the parameters of the Forum Space.
The parameters above are as follows:
- User Group - this is for allowing certain users who are in the selected group to post, comment, and read content in the space.
- Moderators Group - In addition to the permissions above, this group is also allowed to delete content and manage content restrictions
- Forum Administrators Group - Full administration rights in the Forum Space.
- Space page label - If you have EasyPage installed, then this label will be automatically added to the EasyPage Blueprint for this space.
- Archived page label - If you add this label to a page, it is automatically displayed as an 'Archived Posts' on the home page of the Space.
Once you have created the space, you will be directed to the default homepage, that looks like this:
If you noticed you have made a mistake to the parameters upon creating the Space, you can edit the parameters within the Space Admin of Forum Space.
